Narrow Axed Chopper Motorcycle Gas Tank 1.9 gallon. This narrowed version of the classic Axed chopper gas tank holds 1.9 gallons of gas. Narrower (as the name implies) than the standard Axed gas tank, it sits up pretty high on your frame's backbone. Axed tanks came about in the 1970's, styled after custom gas tanks some motorcycle enthusiasts made for their Harley-Davidson choppers by cutting up stock H-D split gas tanks and welding the halves together, end up with a similar shape to the Axed Tank. Axed tanks are sometimes called an Alien Gas Tank because they resemble an alien head, especially the dual-cap version (the caps are the eyes)!

It accepts any cam-style Harley-Davidson gas cap and accepts a 1/4 NPT petcock. The tunnel, at deepest, is 3.5 deep. The mounting tabs are undrilled, allowing you to drill and mount your tank exactly how you want it. These are a very nice quality tank, perfect for your home built chopper project.

Note: It is highly recommended to fit your gas tank to your bike before painting. Check for clearance or mounting issues as different combinations of triple trees, risers, and handlebars may cause clearance issues when turning.
