The tank interior has NOT been creamed or otherwise coated. Bare metal shows for the most part but it is hard to see the full interior... For that is the nature of trying to view a tank interior... And I do not own a scope. The tank model number is 61000-47A and was used on Harley 165 models S and ST from 1947 to 1955.
Virtually the same tank (61000-55) was used on Harley "Hummers" beginning in 1955. The cap is Harley #61106-47 and was pretty much standard from 1947 on. It carries readable lettering to measure the 2-cycle oil to gasoline ratio. That was then and this is now... So where are you going to find another tank/cap combo to complete your Harley restoration (except here)?
